Fan Sissoko

is a French-Malian storyteller based in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Her animated short film ‘On The Surface’ (2021) was screened and awarded at festivals around the world, including Clermont Ferrand ISFF. Her second short ‘Sundruð’ (2026) will premiere at Annecy Animation film Festival in June 2026.

Her short stories have been published in Ache Magazine, Midnight and Indigo and Ós Pressan. She is currently working on her first novel.

Fan has a background as a participatory designer and researcher. She has worked with charities and the public sector to improve health, care and food systems in Ireland, the UK and Iceland. She currently works in cultural programming at Reykjavik City Library.
